European frameworks, such as the Green Deal or the New European Bauhaus, favour the use of wood in the construction sector. Several calls for projects have therefore been launched, under Horizon 2020 or Interreg for example, to encourage the development of innovations on this subject and to accelerate their market introduction.

In the framework of Activity 3.3, EGURALT has developed collaborations and alliances with international networks of medium and high-rise timber construction. This collaboration aims to establish a non-exhaustive overview of European collaborative projects on the topic of medium and high-rise timber construction and its promotion. The projects with which EGURALT has been in contact are Build in Wood, ModCons, WoodCircus and AFTB. In addition, as EGURALT has a training component, exchanges with the coordinator of the UpWood project (Erasmus+) have also taken place.

These initial exchanges highlighted the complementarity of studies on the perception of wood by designers and society and the convergence of subjects to be developed such as the promotion and reuse of wood in construction. In this context, contact with the H2020 Rosewood 4.0 project coordinator should facilitate the dissemination of EGURALT’s results. Indeed, this project has created a platform listing innovations in the wood sector.

In addition to promoting the dissemination of knowledge, this activity also makes it possible to identify possible synergies for future cooperation. One of the actions of this collaboration was to transmit to the coordinators of the projects contacted the awareness campaign carried out in the framework of WG3. This campaign focused on the benefits of wood in the construction sector and strategies for adaptation to climate change.
