Responsible partners: Nasuvinsa + Baskegur
Description: Construction is, as of today, responsible for 40% of greenhouse gas emissions. Sustainable construction is a commitment in the European roadmap for the decarbonization of the economy.
Sustainable construction must be a commitment in European countries, and more specifically in the SUDOE territory. Wood is a constructive element that allows, in its different uses, to contribute in a very important way to this sustainable construction.
The Eguralt project, in its objective of promoting innovation for an intelligent and sustainable growth, aims to promote this sustainable construction. From the public development sector, the partners responsible for this experience want to study the possibilities of introducing in the tenders that are currently being carried out, parameters that allow a positive evaluation of materials, elements, solutions and others that make their constructions more sustainable and less polluting throughout their useful life, and also in their demolition processes.
To this end, a first step will be to search for good practices developed in countries both within and outside the SUDOE area related to the procurement process. In a second step, we will analyze their applicability in the drafting of technical specifications for public promotion.
In this way, the aim is to achieve a proposal for a rating system with:
- Quantitative aspects, among which we can find the origin of the wood to be used, its quantity, etc.
- Qualitative aspects: level of industrialization of the processes and systems, technologies used, etc.
To carry out this experience, we have experts from the two responsible territories, Navarre and the Basque Country, including IHOBE, VISESA, and architects with extensive experience in wood construction.
