The SDB – Sustainable and Digital Buildings International Conference was held in Marinha Grande (Portugal) on the 27th and 28th of October. This event brought together about 50 participants from several countries, including SerQ – Centro de Inovação e Competências da Floresta, partner of the Eguralt project.
The seminar was developed around the presentation of scientific papers on various topics: Innovative materials; Sustainable materials; New construction technologies; Additive manufacturing; Digital transition; among others.
Carlos Martins (SerQ) presented part of the experimental work developed in WG2 of the Eguralt project in his presentation entitled “Poplar as an alternative species for load-bearing structures”. He elaborated on this presentation together with Cláudio Ferreira (SerQ), Alfredo Dias (UC – University of Coimbra) and João Negrão (UC). During the SDB, Carlos Martins was also invited to moderate a session on the use of wood in construction.
The conference ended with a visit to the facilities of the CDRSP – Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development.
