Responsible partners: Nasuvinsa and Baskegur (Spain)

Description:

Energy efficiency is one of NASUVINSA’s strategic objectives. As a public company, it identifies these objectives aligned with its strategy and is interested in taking proactive measures to promote the use of BIM – Building Information Modelling – in the construction sectors in the execution and operation of public goods, to ensure these economic, environmental, and social benefits.

It is also an objective to disseminate the experience and knowledge of this project to the companies of the sector, to motivate and transmit NASUVINSA’s commitment to the use of the BIM methodology in the management of its projects. The activity developed within the framework of the EGURALT project is the first step and the pilot test of the application of this technology.

One of the applications of this technology is to be able to carry out the study and traceability of high-rise timber construction through the preparation of the building’s material passport, which will allow the characteristics of the different components and construction systems of the building to be inventoried.

This information will enable a comparative study to be carried out between projects with a high-rise timber structure and the corresponding construction resources used compared to their alternative with traditional construction materials. The aspects to be compared are the carbon footprint, the use of energy, water, and waste.

Using this quantification of resources, the aim is to work on the following objective in terms of energy efficiency and efficient use of resources: the use of resources in the construction process of new social housing developments within the “Navarra Social Housing” Housing Plan.
